 Is It Time To Rethink Pensions In Maryland? November 27, 2006 - The 2006 session of the Maryland General Assembly saw a major debate about the competitiveness of the Teacher Pension system. Proponents of an increase in pension benefits argued that the state plan was "the worst in the nation" and that it was hampering the recruitment and retention of teachers.
