 Update: A Teacher for Every Classroom June 26, 2006 - This report updates the demographics and retention rates of new Baltimore City teachers hired since 1999, comparing those with traditional certification versus those who enter through alternative certification programs or conditional certification. The update again finds that teachers in alternative certification programs had higher retention rates than either conditionally- or regularly-certified teachers for each of their first five years of teaching in City schools.
