The Abell Foundation encourages grant applications that show promise of having a substantial impact on the grant’s beneficiaries and on the organization's growth and stability. Consideration is also given to applications for grants that provide creative responses to pressing community needs, demonstrate potential for stimulating new sources of financial support, and strengthen the operational base to ensure more effective and efficient delivery of services.

We encourage you to use the electronic application forms available on this Web site. Simply download a copy of the application, then submit your application by e-mailing it to the Foundation. Regardless of your means of submission, you must also mail a hard copy as well as a signed cover letter and other attachments. Please see the application form for more details.

The Abell Foundation grant application form is available in three file formats*:

• Microsoft Word 6.0/95 (our preferred format)

*All file types have been saved in a Windows environment. However, most Macintosh OS systems will open these documents.

Notes on downloading:

• In most cases, when you click on one of the links below to initiate a download, your browser will automatically prompt you to save the Abell file on your computer. On some browsers, however, clicking on one of the links will cause the Abell file to load into your browser window (usually as gobbledygook). If this happens, choose Save on your browser to save the file on your computer.
  
  When you save the file on your machine, please rename it so that the file name includes a reference to the name of your organization.
